She does not always have to be paired with boyfriend to make a good movie. DIrected by Irene Villamor of Sid & Aya fame, this movie has self-love and acceptance as main themes. If you are into love stories with a touch of fantasy and even horror then you will surely enjoy this film.

Die Beautiful was such a hit when it came out at the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival that fans immediately clamored for a sequel. Their prayers were answered when Born Beautiful was released this year. In this movie, Martin del Rosario (Barbs) takes the lead. It is a story of finding one’s purpose in life while remaining true to oneself. Paolo Ballesteros fans will be happy to know that the actor has a special appearance in this movie.
3. Maria
Netflix has many good Tagalog movies and Maria is one of them. Starring Christine Reyes in the title role, the movie tells the story of a former assassin who betrays and fakes her death to start a new life. The Lizquien love team of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil is one of the most popular in the Philippines. So it did not come as a surprise when Alone/Together became a hit in the box office. This is a romantic comedy that written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone who has penned and helmed many hit romcoms in the past. Alone/Together is about two college sweethearts who crossed paths again after several years.
Sakaling Maging Tayo tells the story of Pol and Laya, college freshmen who met in Baguio City during the last day of school. Pol is planning to attend a music festival while Laya is about to move back to Manila to escape a failed relationship. Pol sees Laya in tears and decides to stay spend an entire night with her. The movie is starred by Elise Joson, McCoy De Leon, and Bembol Roco and directed by Jaime Habac. Jr.
Written and directed by John Paul Laxamana, Between Maybes is about a reclusive man in Japan who met a washed up actress. The two odd characters found comfort in each other’s company. The movie stars Gerald Anderson and Julia Baretto.
7. Kuwaresma
When you hear the name of director Erik Matti, you know that you are in a for a good scare. Kuwaresma is his latest horror film and probably his scariest to date. It has ax excellent cast too headlined by the Megastar Sharon Cuneta and General Luna’s John Arcilla. The film is about a family that is haunted by the ghost of their late first daughter.
